Giving to the Hands to Honduras Tela Program is easy. Funds may be made out to the Rotary Club of Charlotte-Shelburne Rotary Club. All funds are applied directly to Hands to Honduras projects. This is an excellent way to accomplish International Avenue of Service goals for the year 2007.

Larger donations for full or large parts of projects are being sought. Such contributions will be recognized with plaques on the facilities being built or repaired. Public recognition will also be given in press releases. Contributions larger than $1,000 will normally fall within the above categories. Smaller sums will be parceled out among the other projects.

As in the past, Rotary volunteers are welcome to join the two teams that go to Tela, Honduras for two trips January 22 – January 30 and January 30 - February 7, 2007. These teams will be assigned to various tasks ranging from masonry, painting, and building and repairing schools and other necessary buildings. Transportation, lodging, and subsistence are paid by each volunteer. The program leaders will attempt to obtain the most favorable rates for all possible expense categories.

There District Simplified Grants are limited this year. They are restricted for non-construction materials and, while available, they will not be sought by the Program leaders this year unless your club wishes it.
